Lakeland Community College   http://www.lakeland.cc.il.us/library/tenreasons.htm Ten reasons to use the Library!
MiraCosta college   http://www.miracosta.edu/Instruction/Library/libr101workbook.htm I like this outline approach...mal I agree. The organization of this is very straightforward.

Information competency skills identified at PCC   http://www.paccd.cc.ca.us/library/ilhandbook/teaching_il.htm  Joanne....was this the original info comp criteria.  This looks like it was revised for the  college "information literacy" program?  Note:  I found it and linked it...go to HOME to find the link.  MA.
Tilt Tutorial   http://tilt.lib.utsystem.edu/

3  Modules:  Students are taught three groups of skills related to research: selecting appropriate sources, searching library databases and the Internet, and evaluating and citing information. Each of these skills is emphasized in a separate module with text, interactions, and a quiz.

(Mary Kay)I really like the immediate feedback given after each question in the quizzes. The student is told whether the question was answered correctly as well as gives an explanation of why or why not the question was answered correctly. Sometimes additional related information is also included.  I also like the flexibility of being able to choose which module you want to go into. This would be a useful feature if the tutorial went campus wide and students were just using it on their own. The "Searching" module has a good interactive section which I think would be more useful than what we currently have in our tutorials. The "evaluating" module also has good interactive screens.

We did adapt this for the English 1A classes so we could easily map it over to the new online tutorial format.  MA

Vaughan Memorial Library -Acadia University    http://library.acadiau.ca/  Good interactive tutorials - especially the one for plagiarism (You quote it, you note it) and Evaluating Websites (Credible Sources Count). Interesting and engaging.
Writing Lab

 Writing Lab English 100 objective

I created this document from the objectives listed in the three tutorials for English 100

Cal State LA Info comp tutorial   http://www.calstatela.edu/library/tutorial/toc.htm

(Mary Kay)I like the option of being able to go into different components of the tutorial. I thought the "Introduction" component was a great idea - it provides not only research-related information, but also very practical things about the library such as location of computers and copiers and what you need to use them (money, id). Very informative. I think a strength of this tutorial is definitely the graphics - quality photos (versus clip art like in TILT) - There were VERY GOOD photos of the library collections, services (even photos of the copiers and computers) as well as actual photos of magazines and books, etc. The "Citing & Copyright" component is very good. It is based on Tilt, but perhaps gives a bit more information. The plagiarism section is very good and has very good interactive exercise.

University of Newcastle SLOs    University of Newcastle student learning outcomes (notes)  There are so many examples but I thought these objectives were good
